so many of us, ESPECIALLY in the queer community grew up feeling different and not understanding why.
we weren’t taught how to take up space in a world that wasn’t designed for us…
don’t let this stand in the way!
TAKING UP SPACE
What is it costing you to stay where you are right now?
Money? Not charging what you’re worth? Not asking for a raise? Not negotiating your salary upon sign on? Not starting that business. etc…
Opportunities? Does lack of confidence or imposter syndrome keep you from going for it? Do you feel you’ve been passed by for opportunities?
Health? Are fear and stress flooding your body with cortisol? What is the emotional, physical mental toll?
I’ve experienced all of these costs and understand how difficult it can be to get out of the cycles that they create. Bit by bit, I was able to move through this cycle and start to reframe my thinking and create a more comfortable and productive path forward. I’m not ashamed to admit that I still have my challenges from time to time—the difference is, I’m no longer stuck in it!
I work with clients who are ready to learn how to embody the concept of taking up space. What exactly does it mean to take up space?
Be the person you weren’t allowed/taught how to be
Being yourself expansively rather than editing for the comfort or convenience of others
Honoring yourself by understanding and implementing boundaries, understanding and expressing your emotions (even icky ones), and listening to your intuition
Practicing self-awareness and self-trust in order to shift mindset
How would your life change if you were able to do all of the above? How would you benefit financially, spiritually, emotionally, and physically? What would happen if you became the person you dream of becoming?
Taking Up space requires:
Voice
What does it feel like when you’ve held back a comment or felt too nervous to speak up in front of others? Speaking your hopes, obstacles, and feelings aloud takes courage and vulnerability. Harnessing the power of your voice is a skill to be practiced! In working together, you’ll be given a safe container to develop this skill and harness the power of your authentic voice.
Body
What happens in your body when you are angry? Stressed? Happy? How about when your brain says “yes” but your gut is saying “no”. Tuning into the sensations of your body and learning not just to read it, but to trust it, is something we will process together through awareness practices and gentle somatic techniques.
Presence
Is there a moment where you walked into a room and felt like YOU? What did it feel like to be unapologetically yourself? Your presence is the culmination of all parts of you. We’ll work on visioning your ideal self— how they show up in the world and and how to embody their way of being into your present self.
